Multistage Pumps
Multiple liquid chambers (or stages) are connected in a sequence in multistage centrifugal pumps. The fluid enters at suction line pressure and exits at a higher pressure. When the fluid exits the first stage, it enters the second, where the pressure is boosted even more.
The pressure that can be generated by a single-stage centrifugal pump is limited. Therefore, a multistage pump is utilised to achieve larger pressures.
